Holistic Health Options - Vaccinations
Today we are seeing a large trend in Holistic wellness and treatment options for pets. An example is titre testing to determine whether or not your pet truly needs a specific vaccination. A titre test can show your pet may still be immune to a particular disease for which regularly scheduled vaccinations are required. *Please note that while a titre test may show that your pet is still protected for a specific disease, many grooming salons, governing bodies, licencing offices, etc. do not accept titre test results as proof of immunity and may or will specifically request vaccination records.
Some animals may be exempt from receiving vaccinations if it is deemed that the pet is not in good health and the vaccination would be detrimental to their well being. If this is the case, the Veterinarian must provide the owner with a written letter stating this fact on their clinic/hospital letterhead. This letter must be carried with you at all times while travelling or visiting facilities with your pet. Be sure to check the provincial or state laws before travelling with your pet. Border crossings from Canada to the United States do not accept titre testing at this time. It is best to contact border security and the province/state you are travelling to and know the laws in those areas pertaining to titre tests vs immunization prior to departure.
